On October 18, 2018, experts from the Institute of Tourism, the Ministry of Tourism, the Croatian Employment Service, the Ministry of Science and Education and the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts discussed about vocational education in tourism and hospitality sector and about the future of Croatian tourism on conference ”Are we… SeasonREADY? How does the future of Croatian tourism look like?”, organised within SeasonReady project.
The lectures were held by dr. Renata Tomljenović from the Institute for Tourism, Vlado Prskalo, assistant minister for vocational education at the Ministry of Science and Education, Jelena Pavičić from the Ministry of Tourism, Kristina Alerić, Head of Employment intermediation department at the Croatian Employment Service and Nevena Kurteš from Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts.
The meeting ended with a discussion on the round table “Tourism grows, should we grow even?”. The conclusion of all participants is that the necessary changes are needed to bring long-term profits to Croatian tourism, and that only through the cooperation of all stakeholders, from students and professors, Croatian employment service and employers, to the relevant ministries Croatia can fulfil its full tourist potential.
